‘I am Elite’ has been out for a little over three months now. With the covid-19 happening I was able to hide in my house for weeks, making it easier to remain in my ‘just published bubble’.
Let me update you by answering some of the questions people have been asking me now that I am coming out of hiding.
I loved writing ‘I am Elite’. The story itself only took a matter of days. Making it the best possible took forever. You can imagine after spending hours upon hours on a story, you become less observant. Because of my dyslexia, being human and being a first time writer, I definitely have improving to do.
For the past three months I have been collecting every single advice, critique and feedback. I wrote them all down.
Sometimes getting a bad review really, really sucks. Sometimes it sucks so much that you wonder what the hell you are wasting your time for.
But then there are the wonderful reviews, reviews of people that loved my story, people that genuinely wanted to help me with their honest feedback. They gave me hope that I could improve my writing. Because let’s be honest, nobody’s book was perfect on their very first try.
So, what have I been doing since publishing?
I wrote the second book to the series! I finished editing that second book for the first time and am now waiting for some wonderful friends that will do a first read through. This means a new book will be coming out!
THAT SAID. I know ‘I am Elite’ is not perfect yet. And because of that, while my wonderful friends help me with the second book, I have chosen to have another go at ‘I am Elite’. I want to use the feedback that has been giving to me as a guide to make the story better and to take out some of the little grammar mistakes.
Because I have chosen to have another look at my book, I have also chosen not go through extra promotions or expand my sale locations (after 3 months on amazon I would be able to broaden my online stores).
This means that all of you lovelies that have my book will have a pretty limited first edition! The second edition might take a little while to come out on paperback. But hopefully E-book will be available soon.
